Smaya Anand

Smaya is a junior majoring in History and Spanish, with a minor in Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability. She is the treasurer of the University YMCA Student Board, as well as the vice president of Amnesty International at UIUC and the social media manager of the Life Drawing Club. She has worked at the Spurlock Museum of World Cultures since 2025. This past summer, she interned for Congresswoman Robin Kelly, and the summer before she worked for the civic engagement nonprofit IssueVoter. She is committed to the promotion of human rights for all, for her local community and for marginalized people everywhere.
