Jennifer Bergmark

Dr. Jennifer Bergmark is an Assistant Professor in Art Education at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Her research is concerned with culturally relevant pedagogy, arts integration, arts advocacy, community arts, artist in schools, and school as a socially engaged arts lab. Her research is anchored in the Everyday Arts Lab (EAL), an after-school visual art program and art educator early teaching experience in partnership with Stratton Academy of the Arts. Bergmark brings her curatorial experience to art education courses that explore collaborative practices
and exhibition as a creative practice for K-12 art curriculum. She has enjoyed serving on the Art @ the Y committee since 2014. Her project to bring exhibition to schools through a correspondence gallery project is to you to me gallery.
